What is it that makes a life coach an expert or authority in their field?
May 3, 2:23AM EDT0

I am not a life coach by professional schooling or training, I teach and share through my own experiences.

My personal experiences make me somewhat of an authority. I have found success and what works through my own experiences. Of course, what works for me might not work for another, but what else do we have then examples in life. Real Life examples I believe are much stronger and more helpful than anything I might come from a text book. Real life over science for me.

What and how is your experience working with first-time homebuyers?
Apr 2, 2:06PM EDT0

Regardless if my client is a first, second or third time Home Buyer I tend to review the entire real estate process with each client every step of the way. Why? Every city and state will vary in terms of transfer taxes and local ordinances, so even if you've purchased or sold in one place, it's likely to differ in the next. I believe, there is never a dumb question and likewise, I may sound like a recording as I educate my clients at every turn, but information is key in my business and buying a home is one of the most expensive purchases a person will make in one's life.First Time Home Buyers, Soon To Be Newly Weds

What is your favorite thing about the 2018 and what are you looking forward to?
Apr 1, 8:38PM EDT0

Every year I start off with a long list of what I want to do. I don't really call them Goals.  The word "Goals" says to me, something I want to do and may or may not accomplish.  That is why I refer to it as a "To Do" List.

I am always excited about the unknown and what's next.  2018 kicked off with a new apartment in LA. I have been looking forward to spending more time in LA for years. I didn't have an opportunity to do it sooner, as we were raising a family. Now that we are empty nesters, I have the luxury of diving my time between Northern and Southern California. The best of both worlds, for me.  It's a dream come true. I can now work in both LA and SF and visit my kids in their respective cities; Boulder and New York.  What are you looking forward to? Hope it is a stellar year! Remember, your destiny is your hands. #Believe

How many real estate projects do you work at one time?
Mar 31, 10:20PM EDT0

As many that come my way. Sometimes we may be working on one home, other times 5 or 6. We never know when a client will call or need us. You can't turn business away, so you simply manage it. A juggler of sorts. For me, the busier I am the more focused and organized I am, so throw it my way. I love it! How does the saying go, "Ask a busy person if you want something done." So true, so true.

How many homes did you sell last year as a real estate agent?
Mar 31, 7:21PM EDT0

About 25 homes ranging in price from $800 to $3.5 M. Take a look

Click SOLD Piedmont and SOLD East Bay to preview websites and details.

It's simply an honor to do what I do. I love helping people, whether that is educating them about the home buying process or preparing a clients home for market and then marketing it for sale. It really is a lot of fun, always interesting and yes, sometime stressful.

Even after 25 years in Real Estate, everyday is new, and different, and makes me excited to get out of bed in the morning.

How do you keep up with the changing trends in all the fields, real estate, writing, philanthropy etc?
Mar 31, 1:01PM EDT0

Real Estate is how my husband and I support our family. Although it is our job/career, selling Real Estate feels much more like a lifestyle. It's what I love and am passionate about. It's a way of life.

Writing is a hobby. I don't make money writing, it is just a way for me to process. Whether I am processing my thoughts, my passions or helping others.

Philanthropy is a hobby and something that makes me feel good. It's just another way to help others and giving back. It's not for everyone, but if you enjoy it, it's very fulfilling.

And don't forget SOULCYCLE. One must make time for diet and health. SoulCycle is a must. It keeps me feeling fit, mentally, physically and spiritually.

Make time for yourself, no one else will.

Can you as a life coach help a low-functioning person?
Mar 29, 9:56PM EDT0

I think so. Everyone needs a little push now and then. Some more than others. We are all worthy. It may not be easy, but it certainly is worth it. The rewards are tremendous when you know ( as a coach, mentor or friend ) when you have helped another person.

It's a win-win for all !

Seek out help and commit to it. You can rise above. I believe in you!

What according to you are the most common differences and similarities as a life coach or a spiritual life coach?
Mar 29, 7:52PM EDT0

Their similiarities can also be their differences.

In both we seek to promote well being, happiness and health.

Health & Well Being:  We all seek to find a balance and to enjoy healthy relationships, personally, with our families and in our work environments.

Purpose. We all seek to find our purpose our higher calling.

Passion. We all seek to do what we love and find our passion.

The list goes on.  And the two go hand in hand.

What is the best skin care routine for a person in their thirties?
Mar 29, 2:37PM EDT0

Skin Care Routine:

Cleanse morning and night.

Wear Sunscreen. Find one that feels good and not greasy.

Use Moisturizer.

In the evening, wash, cleanse and moisturize again.

Drink lots of water. Water hydrates our skin and body.

If it is in the budget, get a facial every month or every 6 weeks.

Stay out of the sun and wear a hat.

How you take care of yourself today is extremely important to how you will look in the coming years.  Don't forget to moisturize your neck and chest.

And you are probably not too young to get a laser facial as well.

What is the real meaning of the word philanthropist?
Mar 29, 11:55AM EDT0

Philanthropist

As Defined by Google: phi·lan·thro·pistfəˈlanTHrəpəst/noun

  1. a person who seeks to promote the welfare of others, especially by the generous donation of money to good causes.synonyms:benefactor, benefactress, patron, patroness, donor, contributor, sponsor, backer, helper, good Samaritan; More

What the word means to me:

whether your involvement is made through a monetary donation or gift of time, I find it very rewarding to help others in need and my husband and I have taught our children to do the same. I encourage everyone to donate, volunteer or support their favorite charities in anyway that works best for them.

My most admired role model, still to this day, is Lady Diana.  To me, the public Lady Di embodied everything beautiful. She followed a path that wasn’t easy, but inspiring.  When I think of her, I still see her walking through the minefield wearing protective gear.  If I were to describe her, I would list: a loving parent; a philanthropist and a global ambassador for charitable causes; a woman with her own style; and a person who seemed to rise above the constant drama in her life. I am thankful for all of the role models and mentors in my life.

Who are your role models and/or mentors?

How can a person find passion in their life when they do not feel any? Have you had moments like that?
Mar 28, 6:58PM EDT0

Oh yes, When I was 25 I was lost.

And again after the kids were off doing their own thing -- in college.

That is when I brainstorm what I want to do with my life.  Dressing up, putting on make up and doing my hair, and putting one foot in front of the other helps. Keep moving.  Google what you are feeling and read other people's stories. There is so much out there that can help us.

Realize, it will pass, you will find your passion again. Time heals.

Were you always confident about ageing or you developed that later?
Mar 28, 2:42PM EDT0

I was always pretty lax about it.

When I turned 53 I kind of freaked out. It was the same time I was transitioning into the empty nest and life after kids.

Now I want to write a book and share with everyone what they can do so they don't have to go through what I did. Would you read it? I hope so!

Don't worry, be happy and hang out with younger people.

Which skin care products do you use to maintain your skin youthful?
Mar 28, 7:00AM EDT0

I don't have any favorite skincare products I am loyal to. I have used many products. I end up buying products after a spa treatment or may find something I like at any given time. If I am skiing I always need something heavier, so I buy at the resort spa. Likewise, I will stumble upon something like Rodan & Fields or solicited by walking past a store. I am a sucker. I know.

With that said, I wash morning and night. I moisturize every evening, I use a base moisturizer in the am. I also moisturize my body, especially my neck! Don't forget your neck and chest! This goes for facials too. Oftentimes it is extra, but it can't be missed. I am working on improving my chest and neck now. I sometimes forget to remind my facialist to pay special attention to my neck and chest. UGH!

Laser facials really help. I've been doing those for awhile. I have tried vampire facials too, and have not yet had a facelift or peal.

I am particularly obsessed with a company called Skin Laundry .... in LA right now. Check it out. It helps regenerate the collagen in your face. I love it!

My two addictions, SoulCycle (sweating is a good detox) and Skin Laundry.

What would you advice women who fear getting old?
Mar 28, 5:58AM EDT0

You know, I went through that. It was two years into the empty nest and I felt I had lost my purpose. Sure, I was still working and passionate about my career but I had a huge hole in the pit of my stomach and just felt old. My fellow empty nesters were playing golf and bridge and the thought of doing those two things made me, one, feel old, and two, wanting to shoot myself. Sorry, poor choice of words, but you get my point.

It wasn't until I started doing my charity work in LA (I lived full time in Northern Cal at the time) which eventually morphed into finding a partner in LA and doing what I love in both Southern and Northern California, a dream come true. Now I am not bored and love what I do. I also am hanging around younger people who I can relate to while at the same time sharing my wisdom. It's a win win for all.

I also have found a variety of service providers who help me feeling and staying young, from my facialist, to my hairstylist and all the other services I find make me look and feel young. #AMA always happy to go into detail, just ask.

What type of training or certification did you receive as a life coach? Does one need such to be able to help people?
Mar 28, 4:59AM EDT0

I don't have a degree or certificate in marketing or coaching, but I think I have helped a number of people.

There are so many programs. Take a look at the FORBES article. It's a start.

Step 1:  Research: Finding a Life Coach Certification Program that Meets Your Specific Needs

Currently, there are over 150 ICF Accredited Coach Training Programs in the world. The ICF Accreditation guidelines are global, as there are not state or region-specific guidelines or standards for coaching. According to the ICF accreditation guidelines, each Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP) must offer:

  • Coach Skills Training (at least 125 hours)
  • Competency and Code of Ethics Training
  • Observation by an experienced coach while you coach clients (6 sessions)
  • At least 6 observed-coaching sessions with an experienced coach
  • A comprehensive final exam
  • Credentialed Trainers by the ICF

Here are a few programs to get you started with your research, but remember you can search by location, distance learning options, language or coaching specialty at www.coachfederation.org:

Which of your books was the hardest to write? Why? Are you planning others soon? What will the next be about?
Mar 28, 12:39AM EDT0

Contained Beauty was difficult because I was sad while I wrote it and pulled all the images together. It was a labour of love and was written when my daughter left for college. I was devastated. I didn't think I would ever stop crying during the months I worked on my book.

The Art of Real Estate would be the most difficult as it was very time consuming. I would pull all nighters editing to make sure every word was accurate. It is not a book you can put into specific chapters, like Buyer, Seller, Inspections and Marketing, as they all are intertwined.

REAL ESTATE RULES! was easier as it is what I do each and everyday. Plus the fact my publisher wanted the chapters to be short.  The most difficult piece for me was cutting out my long winded way of writing. That was tough for me, as I want my point to be as clear as possible for the reader.

The 4th book LIGHTS CAMERA ACTION is just a short book. Likened to a film short. I wrote that one morning specifically for a celebrity gift lounge in LA.

What would you tell your 20 years old self if you could go back in time?
Mar 27, 6:55PM EDT0

It's all going to be ok.

Good things take time.

Enjoy yourself at the same time

Write out your goals. Chart your path. We need a map to know where we are going.

I did and my 25 year old goals came true.

Now I am working on my new goals.

It's time for me to start drafting and reporting.

Relax and Enjoy. You are exactly where you need to be.

How has the attention you get from men changed over the years? Has it ever bothered you in any way?
Mar 27, 8:20AM EDT0

I am a friendly person, it's just my nature. Sometimes men mistake my kindness as attraction, just to set the stage.  I am pretty oblivious when it comes to noticing attention paid to me by men. Oftentimes, I am just minding my own business, usually deep in thought about where I am going next.

I have noticed at clubs, not that I go very often, but when I was in Las Vegas last year there were times the guys were paying more attention to the girls with big boobs, who were half naked.  But on the other hand I had quite a few guys in their 20's around me. It can get uncomfortable because I am married, but of course, a little attention does tend to boost one's confidence. I guess I would say, the older I get the younger the guys are that seem to be attracted to me, while the older guys, not as readily. Go figure! Of course, if I notice someone and they don't notice me, it might make me feel old. But really it is not a reflection of me if the kind of woman they are attracted to are blonde bombshells, because that is not me, I am a brunette. For me, as long as I am happy with the way I look and feel, I have confidence, and with confidence brings sexiness. Confidence really can be quite sexy. You will see some of the largest and not even necessarily attractive men or women, but when they exude confidence and kindness, all bets are off.  Which reminds me of that Vegas trip. I met a man in the swimming pool at the Wynn, he was a large man, but very  kind. We had great conversation exchange about my charity work and businesses. His kindess and confidence made him sexy. Did I mention he was bald, too?

Regardless, his confident demeanor and kind heart made him attractive. So much so my two unmarried girlfriends took a liking to him. And that was my cue to head off to find other guys to invite to our pre party. And my one friend, the blonde bombshell ended up sleeping with him.

Thx for asking :)

Confidence, you can develop it too.

In what ways can a philanthropist best harness the tools from other disciplines to devise effective social change strategies?
Mar 27, 7:31AM EDT0

Education and awareness are the catalyst of change.

Every time I find myself involved in another philanthropic venture I am astounded by what I did not know. We must first have interest and a desire to help others in order to learn, engage, invest (time, money, resoures, energy, emotions) and effect change.

Great question LEON123 !
